Leeds United exit talk for Junior Firpo gathers pace – reports suggest 3 teams in for him with Leeds under pressure

Junior Firpo is set to be out of contract in the summer and Leeds United are yet to offer him a new deal. Daniel Farke has insisted that all talks over new deals will happen at the end of the season but the speculation surrounding his future at the club has been raging for months. Sooner or later a decision needs to be made but it seems Firpo is in no hurry to decide on his future just yet.

Leeds are involved in a tight three-way fight for automatic promotion with Sheffield United and Burnley and Farke has no time for discussing new contracts for players.

Junior Firpo has been a major player for Leeds and has been in sublime form on the pitch since returning from his injury at the start of 2025.

His performances have played a key role in pushing the Whites to this position and he will be key if Leeds have to earn automatic promotion in the final eight games of the season.

However, there is no certainty on whether Firpo will be at Leeds next season as his contract will expire at the end of the ongoing campaign.

Three teams have approached Junior Firpo but he has not decided yet

Leeds seem to be inclining towards not offering a new contract even if they get promoted to the Premier League but it seems a final call has not been made.

Firpo is also very involved in the season and is focused on ensuring Leeds get promoted to the Premier League in the next six weeks.

However, he recently changed representatives and according to TEAMTalk, his representatives have gone to work on his future and are assessing all options at the moment.

If he leaves Leeds, he is expected to return to Spain and it has been claimed three clubs have approached to sign him, including Real Betis.

Firpo will be available on a free transfer and that makes him an attractive proposition for clubs across Europe but he is likely to prefer a move to Spain.

The left-back wants more time to decide

Despite his agents going to work on his future, it seems the defender has not made up his mind about what he wants to do in the summer.

A move away from Leeds seems likely but it has been claimed that the Dominican wants more time to assess all his options before he can decide his future.

He is still an important player for Leeds and the Whites could still offer him a new contract at the end of the season.

Daniel Farke is a big fan of the left-back and it would not be a surprise if Leeds offered him a new deal under pressure from the manager even if they get promoted.

The positive thing the Leeds fans can cling on to is that neither Firpo nor the club seem to have made a definitive decision on his future in the summer.
