Leeds United eye £5M rated Augsburg star – He could move to England to play for the Three Lions

Leeds United celebrated their promotion with a big 4-0 win over Bristol City on Monday night. The fans at Elland Road could not celebrate at the stadium, as their place in the Premier League was confirmed after their win over Stoke City.

Monday night was another big win for Daniel Farke’s men – the Whites have now scored 10 goals in their last two home games. Unfortunately for Leeds, their final game of the season is away to Plymouth. The team have a massive advantage, as the Pilgrims have all but been relegated.

This summer transfer window gives the club a chance to answer questions surrounding the first team. Leeds will be going into next season not knowing who will be first choice keeper. Illan Meslier is set to leave after he was benched for Karl Darlow during the run in.

Even though the veteran has done a decent job, all signs point to the club finding a new keeper in the transfer window.

The search for a new shot stopper has taken the Whites to the Bundesliga. According to SportBild, Leeds United are eyeing a move for Augsburg’s Finn Dahmen. The 27-year old has impressed with his performances this campaign, despite starting just 16 games. Dahmen has one-year left on his current deal, and is valued around £5million by Transfermarkt.

SportBild have hinted that one reason Dahmen could move to England is to play for the Three Lions. He has played for Germany from U15 to U21 level, but is eligible to play for England through his mother.

His sample size this season has been just 16 league games, but the statistics show Dahmen is a solid shot stopper.

The 27-year old has faced 18.16 Expected Goals on Target and has conceded just 10 goals. Which means he has prevented close to eight goals this season for Augsburg. This is exactly the type of signing Leeds need, heading into the Premier League. The club need to move fast to fight off any competition.
