Leeds United eye double swoop for Celtic duo – Daniel Farke could fill needs at two positions

Leeds United have already began working to identify targets for this summer. After winning promotion, now the hard work starts. Daniel Farke and the recruitment team have the task of building a team that could survive the Premier League.

It is going to be a very tough prospect. Surviving as a newly promoted side has gotten harder since the last time Leeds were in the division. Over the past two seasons, all the promoted sides went back down. And if this summer does not go as planned regarding transfers, the Whites could suffer the same fate.

This week, reports have linked the club with a move for Celtic striker Daizen Maeda. The Japanese international looks set for a move away from Scotland, as reports claim he has been offered to multiple clubs in England.

It looks like Maeda is not the only player that has caught the eye in Scotland. Graeme Bailey has reported that Leeds are also interested in signing Cameron Carter-Vickers and Nicolas Kuhn from Celtic.

The report claims that the club have sent scouts to Scotland since January. Leeds United are said to be seriously interested in the duo. But they will not come cheap, both Kuhn and Carter-Vickers are under contract up to 2029. If the Whites do want to sign the duo, they might have to pay in upwards of £30million.

Daniel Farke to address depth in key areas

Cameron Carter-Vickers and Nicolas Kuhn cover two areas, defence and attack. Ethan Ampadu has had to fill in at center back with Pascal Struijk out. And with Max Wober possibly leaving in the summer, Leeds could be left with just two center backs. Adding the Celtic man automatically boosts the depth at the back.

Kuhn would also be a valuable addition in attack. He is a wide player with elite goalscoring threat. With most of Daniel Farke’s current wingers not that prolific in front of goal, Kuhn could fit well in the attack.
