Leeds United eye January move for Champions League star Jens Petter Hauge

Leeds United signed 10 players this summer, but only three of the signings were attackers. The Whites brought in Lukas Nmecha, Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Noah Okafor.

Fans complained that not enough had been invested, considering the club spent around £100million in total. After the summer window, Leeds managing director Robbie Evans explained that the club had to miss out on marquee names in attack because of PSR.

Daniel Farke has managed to work around the lack of goals, but in recent games, the need for a consistent goalscorer has emerged.

Noah Okafor has emerged as a potential goal threat now, with two goals in the last three games. And now Leeds could be looking to add another winger when January comes around. According to Graeme Bailey, Bodo/Glimt winger Jens Petter Hauge is on the club’s radar:

“One name they like is Jens Petter Hauge. He’s on the radar. He’s one who Leeds have had a look at, because the Red Bulls have looked at him.”

The 26-year old has six goals and three assists in 22 league games in 2025.

Club’s wide options have been thin this season

This season has not been a particularly great one for the club’s wide options. Leeds started the season with Okafor, Gnonto, James and Harrison as their main wide options. Down the line, Daniel Farke decided to try Brenden Aaronson there, and the American has adapted to the role. But it has been rare for Leeds to have all their options fit at the same time.

Dan James has been struggling with injury since the early parts of the season and Noah Okafor only recently got fit enough to start games. Jack Harrison has yet to start a game this season, which makes the decision to keep him at the club very confusing. And now that Gnonto has undergone surgery, he could be out for a few more weeks.

January is a long way away, but the Whites could need another wide option who will be fit and available. Whether Jens Petter Hauge is that signing, seems to remain a huge question mark.
