Leeds United seemingly have one eye on the upcoming summer transfer window despite being in the midst of a Premier League relegation battle.
It goes without saying that the Whites transfer business will be heavily influenced by whatever division they find themselves in next season, with the likes of Pascal Struijk potentially leaving if Leeds get relegated.
Ao Tanaka is another one of those Leeds players who reportedly has an uncertain future after the midfielder has seen his role in the squad be reduced to that of a bit-part player this season.
However, Leeds have found themselves linked with a player who was booed by supporters at Elland Road when he faced Leeds in a Premier League clash back in October.
Leeds plot incredible Crysencio Summerville reunion
Summerville, 24, left Leeds to join West Ham back in 2024, after the winger enjoyed a sensational campaign in the Championship with Leeds, which ultimately ended in heartbreak in the play-off final after Leeds fell short against Southampton.
The Dutchman was Farke’s talisman during his first year in charge of the club, and Summerville’s performances earned him a well-deserved Premier League move after he scored 19 goals and provided nine assists in 43 Championship appearances during the 2023/24 campaign.
Since his move to East London, however, it has not all gone to plan for Summerville until recently, with the tricky winger currently in the midst of his best run of form for West Ham, barring his recent injury struggle.
Despite this, West Ham find themselves in 18th, with a real possibility of going down, and if the Hammers are relegated to the second tier, then it looks as though Summerville will almost certainly jump ship.
According to journalist Ekrem Konur via X, Leeds are said to be “monitoring” Summerville, who they sold to West Ham for £25million, with a potential reunion on the cards if the Whites stay in the Premier League and West Ham go down.
Aston Villa, Newcastle, Tottenham, Everton and Brighton are all credited with also having an interest in Summerville, but it would be interesting to see how he would be received if he returned to Leeds, because Summerville was booed by supporters when he returned to Elland Road with West Ham in October.

Data suggests Crysencio Summerville could be the man to keep West Ham up
Unfortunately for Leeds, who are in direct competition with West Ham to stay in the Premier League, Summerville has been phenomenal as of late for the Hammers, and when he returns from injury, he will likely have a massive say in the run-in.
- Summerville has five goals and one assist in 24 Premier League appearances this season
- He has scored seven goals and notched one assist in his last 11 appearances in all competitions (Sofascore)
In an ideal world for Leeds, Summerville could continue to keep ticking over and chipping away with goals and assists, but it would not be enough to save West Ham from relegation.
Then, the door would be open for an emotional Elland Road return for Summerville, where those boos would quickly turn into cheers once again for the winger.
