There have been various reports over the past few weeks that Leeds United will go for a new goalkeeper to be their starter next season. After Illan Meslier’s latest gaffe, Daniel Farke was forced to make a change.
Meslier made two errors that lead to Swansea City stealing a draw from Leeds. He fumbled a cross he had claimed, and dropped it right into the path of the goals corer. The second goal, he was beaten far too easily at his near post in stoppage time, literally seconds before the final whistle.
Since then Karl Darlow has started every game for Leeds – conceding just two goals and keeping three clean sheets. There is every chance Illan Meslier leaves Elland Road this summer.

So far, the biggest name linked to become first choice at Leeds is Southampton goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale. The England international could be available for around £30million after his team got relegated from the Premier League.
Now, the club have found another target. According to TEAMtalk, Leeds hold some interest in signing Liverpool goalkeeper Caomhin Kelleher. The 26-year old is set to leave Anfield this summer, with a year left on his current deal. Liverpool are said to want around £20-25 million to let Kelleher leave the club.
Leeds will have to fight off West Ham for the Ireland international’s signature.
Kelleher is the upgrade Leeds need in goal
Caomhin Kelleher has been a superb backup keeper in the Premier League. Whenever he has been asked to come off the bench, he shows he is worthy of being a number one at another club.

Most importantly he is a brilliant shot stopper. According to FBref, Kelleher has been in the top 10 of Post-Shot Expected Goals minus Goals Allowed (PSxG-GA) in three of the last five seasons he has played. A positive number on that metric means the keeper is most likely to prevent a shot from becoming a goal scored.
