Leeds United had a lopsided squad in some areas because of the summer transfer window. The transfers brought in were mostly in midfield and up top, while the defence had little reinforcements.
Before the season began, Leeds had one senior right back and left back. But the club quickly addressed that by bringing in Jayden Bogle, and later in the window, Isaac Schmidt. Daniel Farke may be back to square one next month. Leeds could start the summer transfer window with one right back and one left back.
Junior Firpo and Sam Byram are at the end of their contracts soon, and there has been no news on any negotiations. The club could lose both players in the coming months. Byram looked to have said his goodbye in a recent interview after the title win:
“Now we’ve achieved the final target, I’m sure they’ll speak as a team, investors, everyone, and make a plan for the future. Hopefully, I’m part of that, and, if not, I’ll watch on and always be a supporter.”

Leeds could have their eye on a new fullback this summer. According to the Daily Mail, the Whites are set to launch a shock move for Liverpool’s Konstantinos Tsimikas. The report claims that Leeds will let Junior Firpo leave the club this summer, and will attempt to replace him with the Liverpool star.
The Reds are said to be open to Tsimikas’ departure, with Arne Slot also looking to rebuild his squad. The 29-year old has two years left on his deal and could be available for a decent price.
Tsimikas is the perfect Firpo replacement
Tsimikas has a lot of similarities to Junior Firpo. The left back has immense passing ability and can create a lot via crosses.

Firpo has the edge when it comes to being a goal threat, but Tsimikas is very good as creating for others on the overlap. The 29-year old comes with a lot of experience, and has some defensive acumen, which makes him a bit more suited to the Premier League.
