Leeds United eyeing move for £4m sensation

Leeds United have made some shrewd signings over the past few seasons.

The club have signed some great players on bargain fees, and some have gone on to star for the club. One of the club’s best players in recent years, Pablo Hernandez, joined on a free transfer in 2017. The Spaniard went on to become team captain, and even won the club’s Player of the Year award.

Pascal Struijk and Crysencio Summerville arrived on very small fees from Dutch clubs, and both have become first team stars. Leeds made a huge profit off of Summerville in the summer. Wilfried Gnonto was signed for £3.8 million and went on to become an Italian international. Last year, Leeds signed Ethan Ampadu from Chelsea for just £7 million and the Welsh international has been one of the best players in the Championship since he arrived.

Leeds United have set their sights on another potential bargain signing. Motherwell midfielder Lennon Miller has been on the radar of some of the biggest clubs in Europe. According to Graeme Bailey, Leeds are very interested in signing the Scottish youngster:

“Leeds have a rich history with Scottish football and it is not shock to see them interested in Lennon Miller, who some north of the border regard as a generational talent.”

The Whites are not the only team in the race for Miller; Celtic, Rangers, Liepzig and Salzburg are among a few other teams interested.

“Celtic and Rangers are keen, as well as some of the Premier League’s elite talent, but I am told Leeds have also watched him closely, as have sister outfits RB Leipzig and Salzburg.

“Miller basically has his pick of clubs, Leeds hope to be in the mix but given the interest in him it will be tough to land him.”

The teenager has two goals and four assists in the Scottish Premiership this season.

Miller is a bargain option for midfield

Daniel Farke has been pushing to sign a midfielder after the injury issues plagued the team this season. Many of the targets the club have been linked with, like James McAtee, would come with a premium price. A move for Lennon Miller could be very shrewd business. Even at 17, the midfielder looks like he is ready to play football.
