Leeds United are working on multiple transfers as the club seeks to return to the Premier League.
The Whites are in third place in the championship after a great start to the season. Daniel Farke’s men have only lost one game since the start of September.
The team is firing on all cylinders, despite the injury issues in recent weeks. Leeds United have targeted a player who could arrive on a free to help boost squad depth for a title challenge.
Leeds United set sights on teenage sensation
According to TBR football, the Whites are targeting Hammarby winger Bazoumana Toure. The 18-year old has been a sensation at the Swedish club this campaign. Eight goals and three assists in just 19 starts in the league for Hammarby.
Toure joined the Swedish club in March, and was immediately moved to the first team. The winger was part of the Ivory Coast U23 side at the Tournoi Maurice Revello in June.
Competition for the player is tight. TBR report that over a dozen scouts from British clubs went to watch Toure as he scored twice and provided an assist last weekend. Newcastle, Aston Villa and Championship rivals Sheffield United are all in the race for the player.
Elland Road should be the perfect landing spot for Toure
Leeds United are not new to buying top class teenage talent and developing them at Thorp Arch. Under Victor Orta, the club signed Pascal Struijk, and Crysencio Summerville from youth sides of Dutch clubs.
This summer they sold Summerville for £25million, and Struijk is now one of the best defenders in the Championship.
A move to Leeds United would be ideal, but there is only so much the whites can offer compared to established Premier League clubs. Toure’s manager Kim Helleberg has also said that the player wants to be at the ‘highest level’:
“I think he can play at the highest level possible. I don’t see why he shouldn’t have the chance to get there. There have been many players who have had the opportunity to get there but have not taken that route,”
“He is unique in the way he learns things and picks things up. Now he scored two goals on his head… and we have worked so much on how he should get into the box and how he should position himself to create advantages linked to the fact that he is not a big player.”
