Patrick Bamford’s future at Leeds United continues to be a talking point this season.
Leeds United fans have not been happy with how much Bamford has played over the past few seasons. The 31-year old has started just 40 league games over the past three seasons, which means he averages around 10 games every year.
After delivering a 17-goal campaign in the 2020/21 Premier League season, everything has gone downwards for Patrick Bamford. The forward has barely been able to stay fit at the club over the past few years.
One key moment happened this season which caught the attention of a lot of fans. Bamford’s cameo in the loss to Millwall showed a player who was frustrated with himself. And now the club are questioning if they want to keep him around.

There are still discussions going on about Patrick Bamford’s future at Leeds United. The striker has made just six appearances in the league, and has failed to start a single game. Dom Howson believes Patrick Bamford could leave the club in January:
“It has felt like Bamford has been playing catch-up since pre-season. Too often Bamford has looked off the pace and failed to make an impact as a substitute.” He wrote via LeedsLive.
“He has a job on his hands reclaiming the No.9 spot, with Mateo Joseph and Joel Piroe jumping ahead of him in the queue to lead the line. There have been numerous reports in recent weeks suggesting that Bamford could be allowed to leave in 2025”
The 31-year old is said to be one of the highest paid players in the Championship this year.
“But a big stumbling block in any potential deal could be Bamford’s wage demands. He is believed to be one of the top earners at the club.”
This latest news contrasts recent reports that claim Bamford is happy at Elland Road and is willing to accept his new role off the bench.
Will Patrick Bamford leave this January?
The 31-year old has not been fit enough to start games this season and is still struggling with fitness. Bamford has a huge salary, which would most likely prevent any Championship clubs from signing him.
Leeds should keep the striker around the club, he showed his use last season as he contributed eight goals of the bench. The club cannot afford to lose an experienced squad player, when there is still a lot of football yet to be played this season.
