Leeds United face worrying blows

Leeds United head into this weekend’s game against  Plymouth with a growing list of injury problems.

The Whites are in good form as they prepare to face Plymouth at home on Saturday; Leeds have lost just one game since the middle of August.

Daniel Farke’s team sit in third place in the Championship, five points off league leaders Sunderland.

Farke has done a tremendous job with the team this season, after losing multiple key players in the summer. The likes of Georginio Rutter, Crysencio Summerville and Archie Gray all left the club. The German coach scrambled to find replacements in the transfer market, but has ended up using the current Leeds squad perfectly.

Brenden Aaronson, who was sent out on loan last season, and deemed not good enough to play for the club has become a key player this season. Wilfried Gnonto and Daniel James have also stepped up this campaign.

There have been a few absences from the Leeds United team in recent games, and it looks like more players could follow.

Dan James, Patrick Bamford and Joe Gelhardt are all doubts after some problems in training this week. James is dealing with a hamstring problem, Bamford has an adductor issue and Gelhardt had a setback with his hip.

“A few question marks behind a few players. One is Joffy, he got a hit on his hip yesterday, so a hip contusion. He was not able to train today, so late decision with him. And two question marks behind Daniel James and Patrick Bamford.”

“Dan has some problems with his hamstring again, and Patrick with his adductor, both were not able to train yesterday. They were both involved today in a light session, but the final assessment and the final test is tomorrow in our last session before the game.”

Daniel Farke receives boost as players return

It is not all bad news for Leeds United; Max Wöber has returned to first team training after over a month out of action. Junior Firpo will also return to the lineup after he missed out of the last game due to suspension.

Leeds United would have to be at their best against this Plymouth side. Wayne Rooney’s team beat league leaders Sunderland just a few weeks ago.
