Leeds United fans are all saying the same thing about Facundo Buonanotte – ‘Top talent’

Facundo Buonanotte has become Leeds United’s first signing of the January transfer window, with the Argentinian joining on loan from Brighton for the remainder of the season.

After narrowly missing out on Buonanotte in the summer, with the 21-year-old initially opting to sign for Chelsea on loan rather than Leeds, the 49ers have finally landed their man.

Graham Smyth recently revealed that Buonanotte, in fact, pushed for a move to West Yorkshire in January, in a move that will undoubtedly see him go up in the estimations of most supporters after leaving them high and dry in the summer.

Now, Leeds supporters have taken to social media to react to the newest arrival at Elland Road.

Leeds fans happy with Facundo Buonanotte deal

Buonanotte’s arrival in West Yorkshire all but confirms that Jack Harrison will likely leave the club in January, with yet another player who can play out wide now ahead of the Englishman in the pecking order under Daniel Farke.

Leeds supporters are seemingly excited by the latest addition to the squad, judging by the reaction on social media, with one supporter saying, “Buzzing for the Buonanotte signing cant lie. Top talent.”

Another supporter said, “At some point, people are gonna have to start giving props to the recruitment team as well. We obviously have difficulties with PSR, but all our work since the second season of the Championship has been really smart.” With the praise towards the 49ers being echoed by another Leeds fan, “Such smart moves by 49ers, they’ve done it often too, super impressed.”

One Leeds fan hadn’t quite let go of the fact that Buonanotte snubbed a move to United in the summer, with their post saying, “Kid has some making up to do, couple of winners will help!”

Whilst another took a more analytical approach to the signing, which is hard to argue with, “Buonanotte is the blueprint for January signings.

“Premier League experience (I liked a lot what he showed at Leicester), addresses a weakness (lack of difference makers), and helps us attack from angles we don’t have access to. Loan, no strings. Great business.”

Data suggest Facundo Buonanotte can make an impact in the Premier League

Although he may have been used sparingly at Chelsea, Buonanotte will certainly add an extra bit of firepower to Leeds’ squad for the second half of their Premier League campaign as they attempt to avoid the drop.

The Argentinian has previous experience of playing regularly in the top flight at Leicester, where the attacker still managed to produce respectable output in a struggling Foxes side.

How Buonanotte will fit in Farke’s system remains to be seen, especially if the German plays 3-5-2, but one thing is for certain: Leeds have added another quality forward to their squad, and that can only be a good thing.
