Leeds United fans are all saying the same thing after concerning Daniel Farke transfer comments – it is justified

There seems to be a lot of talk about what will potentially happen in the January transfer window at Leeds United. When the summer window ended, the club briefed the fans on what went wrong back then.

They explained that PSR was the main reason why the Whites were not able to land many of their preferred targets when the summer window was open. This lead fans to be a bit pessimistic with  January approaching.

In the Championship last year, there was almost zero business in the winter, causing fans to think it could happen again.

Daniel Farke speaks on Leeds United January plans

The Leeds boss already spoke about potential plans in January over a week ago, saying that ‘it was up to the owners’. Now, ahead of the Crystal Palace game, Farke gave a rather sceptical answer when quizzed about the window again.

“I don’t want to speak too much about January but you know my attitude in general,” he said in the pre-match press conference.

“It’s a difficult market, there’s just a limited number of players available. You have just four months left [of the season].

“If you sign them in the summer you have pre-season to prepare and integrate them and so they can adapt to your style and processes. It’s a bit more difficult in January.

“You either get a player where they’re quite often a problem because he’s coming back from injury. Or you have to spend lots to get a player in his rhythm and they can be over-priced.”

The last part of the German’s submission is what may cause many fans to worry; he said that is particular about who arrives at the club.

“I’m very picky in January. You need many things to come together to find a solution but we’re working on a professional level.

“If we find an addition who is affordable and makes us better, you have to be open and ready for it.

“We can speak about January when January has arrived. My whole focus is just on this group.”

The Whites need reinforcements for survival

After a turnaround in form in recent games, the team are on the up. Unbeaten in their last three games against tough opposition like Chelsea and Liverpool should boost morale ahead of the Crystal Palace clash. Leeds seem to be at their best against ‘big teams’, so there is hope for a result on Saturday.

Bottom Four Premier League Teams

17 Leeds United 16
18 West Ham United 13
19 Burnley 10
20 Wolverhampton Wanderers 2

The Whites’ home form has also been the main reason why they are staying afloat this campaign. But this run will only take them so far; they will need some few signings from the ownership if they want to truly survive.
