Leeds United fans are all saying the same thing ahead of Newcastle clash – ‘tough game for us’

Leeds United are looking to extend their unbeaten run to eight matches when they make the trip up to St James’ Park to take on Newcastle.

Paul Merson is among those who expect Leeds’ unbeaten run to continue, with the former Arsenal player predicting the Whites to pick up a third consecutive draw away from home.

However, with it being Leeds’ fourth game in ten days, this will be no easy task for Daniel Farke’s men.

This is something United supporters are all too aware of, with many fans predicting a tough game for their side.

Leeds fans predict Newcastle game to be ‘tough’

Understandably, the confidence of the Leeds players will be at an all-time high considering their recent form, with Noah Okafor’s recent comments proving just how highly the players rate Farke as a manager.

With West Ham losing their relegation six-pointer matchup against Nottingham Forest, the pressure is arguably off Leeds for their game against Newcastle, with one supporter admitting on social media that a “point will do”.

This is a sentiment shared by other supporters who said, “A huge incentive for us tonight to pull further clear of 18th place, tough but not impossible for us to grab another point or more from the game tonight.” Whilst another added, “Free hit tonight against Newcastle. Earned it. However, we would go 11 points clear with a win.”

Some other Leeds fans also spoke about their desire to see Ao Tanaka in the starting XI against Newcastle, with the Japanese midfielder’s last start coming against Brentford.

“Another tough test. Glad Ampadu is back. Tanaka needs to come in as well,” with another also saying, “Tanaka, Ampadu and Stach please. Bench Gruev.”

Previous data suggests Newcastle have a slight advantage against Leeds

Leeds and Newcastle have previously met on 101 occasions, with the Geordies holding a slight advantage over the West Yorkshire outfit.

If Farke’s side were able to level the head-to-head record in terms of wins tonight, then perhaps the Whites will have all but confirmed their status as a Premier League club for next season.

But with Newcastle enjoying some good form of their own as of late, it will be far from easy, with Eddie Howe’s side winning three and drawing once in their last five outings.
