Leeds United fans will see straight through comments made by £10m Elland Road flop

Leeds United

Leeds United have had their fair share of players leave the club in recent years, who supporters simply do not like.

This is mainly due to the manner in which most of them left following the Whites’ relegation from the Premier League in 2023, allowing multiple members of the squad at the time to activate loan clauses within their contract and leave.

Whilst Brenden Aaronson is an example of a player who played his way back into the Leeds fans’ good books, he is the anomaly, with players such as Jack Harrison not being fully accepted upon his return to West Yorkshire over the summer.

Another example of a player who left Leeds on loan in 2023 is Rasmus Kristensen, but the recent comments the right-back made about his former club are something that all Leeds supporters will see straight through.

Rasmus Kristensen makes Leeds United relegation admission

Kristensen, 28, initially left Leeds to join Roma on loan after just one year at Elland Road, before being loaned out to Eintracht Frankfurt the following season, before he ultimately joined the Bundesliga outfit on a permanent basis over the summer.

The Danish defender recently spoke to German outlet Bild, regarding Frankfurt’s struggles as they find themselves just outside of the Champions League spots.

Kristensen admitted that whilst Frankfurt’s position in the table is not ideal, he experienced far worse when he was at Leeds.

“We’re already talking about our games, our performances, our results. We have to believe in ourselves and each other in order to get out of it. I’ve experienced worse things in my career.

“I was relegated with Leeds, that hurts. That’s a different pain. But this is not a nice time right now. That’s why we have to keep at it – we just have to keep fighting,” said Kristensen.

However, relegation seemingly can’t have hurt him too much, some supporters will argue, with Kristensen choosing to turn his back on Leeds on multiple occasions rather than staying to help the Whites whilst they were in the Championship.

Data suggests Jayden Bogle is similar to Rasmus Kristensen for Leeds

It’s no secret that after Kristensen made the £10million move to the Premier League, he struggled and look completley out of his depth at times.

Bogle, on the other hand, has been the complete opposite. Since he swapped Sheffield United for the Whites in the summer of 2024 for just £5million, he has been one of Leeds’ most impressive players in both the Championship and Premier League.

However, the data suggests that the pair are incredibly similar, although Bogle does still have a few months left of the season to improve his numbers.

Whilst he will never be liked by Leeds supporters, perhaps as a player, Kristensen was treated too harshly, and in a better environment, could have thrived for Leeds.
