So far, there has been a trend when it comes to Leeds United targets this summer. The club are keen on adding players who can survive at the Premier League level.
This means physicality and intensity are under consideration if Leeds are to sign any players in this window. Graham Smyth discussed the Whites’ transfer plan recently. And all the recent targets fall under these requirements.
Lukas Nmecha is a 6ft1 striker, who plays physical football and can lead the line up top. Jaka Bijol is also a physical specimen, he stands at 6ft4 and is very good in the air and on the ball. Leeds are closing in on a deal to sign the Slovenian international.
Strasbourg’s Habib Diarra is also a target in midfield. He possesses dynamism in midfield and is a phenomenal ball carrier.

Golic is 6ft3 and is yet to make a first team appearance for Roma, but is highly rated across Europe. He is currently on duty at the U21 European Championships.
The defender caught the eye of Jose Mourinho a few years ago, and was invited to train with the first team at just 16 years old.
The team manager called me and told me that the next day I would have to train with Mourinho.
“At first I asked him if he had called the right player, I couldn’t believe it. When I entered the field, Mourinho asked Dybala what he thought of me, he replied that I seemed a real wall. When Mourinho told him that I was 16 he was incredulous. Even Abraham couldn’t believe I was so young.” Golic recalled to Il Messaggero.
Golic could be a valuable asset for the future
If the 19-year old takes the same path as Crysencio Summerville and Pascal Struijk, this deal will be a bargain. Leeds could possibly be planning to develop him for the first team. A successful pathway leads him to the first team, or gives the Whites the chance to make a profit off him.
