Leeds United finally set for attacking reinforcements

Daniel Farke has not been able to call on the full complement of attackers at Leeds United this season.

Despite that, the club have the second best attacking record in the Championship, after scoring 24 goals in 15 games so far. Leeds are also in third place in the league, just two points off the top of the table. The club could have been in the lead going into the international break, but fumbled the chance to do so against Millwall.

Because of injury problems this season, Daniel Farke has been unable to call on every player. And this has had to do with what was available.

Leeds went into this season with Joel Piroe, Brenden Aaronson, Dan James, Wilfried Gnonto, Manor Solomon, Largie Ramazani, Patrick Bamford, Mateo Joseph and Joe Gelhardt as attacking options.

The Leeds attack has been decent this season, but has not been at the level of last season. The absence of Georginio Rutter and Crysencio Summerville has been felt every time the team takes the pitch. The duo’s creativity has been missed especially in close games.

Joel Piroe is the top scorer at the club with six goals, while Brenden Aaronson has also contributed with four goals. Wilfried Gnonto has shouldered the creative burden this season and has done well so far, providing five assists.

There is good news for Daniel Farke as he is set to have a full attack in the coming weeks. Joe Gelhardt is set to return from a hip issue, Patrick Bamford has also stepped up his fitness and could be available soon. Summer signing Largie Ramazani is also on the road to recovery as he has started training in boots.

The forward picked up an ankle injury a few weeks ago after a bright start to the season, scoring three goals in six starts.

Good news for Daniel Farke

The Leeds boss will be glad to have some players available after injury problems have stalled the club’s campaign. Leeds are already dealing with injuries to key midfielders Ethan Ampadu and Illia Gruev.

Having a full set of squad available during the upcoming schedule is the best news any Leeds fan could get. From now till January, the promotion race will be intense, and now Leeds will have more options available in games.
