Leeds United did a great job of offloading players in this summer window. The club had often been accused of being poor at that by the fanbase.

Max Wober, Largie Ramazani, Jack Harrison and Wilfried Gnonto have all left Elland Road.

The club had different ways of letting go of the players they did not have plans for. Max Wober’s contract was terminated to allow him to leave for free, while Harrison and Joe Gelhardt were sold.

Gnonto, Ramazani, Piroe and Perri were allowed to leave on loan.

Some of the loans came with options to buy, while others also had loans with obligations to buy.

This past weekend saw Lucas Perri and Wilfried Gnonto make their Serie A debuts.

They both featured as Torino and Fiorentina faced off against each other. Perri started the game for Torino, and Gnonto came off the bench for 45 minutes to close the game.

After the game, the Fiorentina boss was sacked which means Gnonto will have a new coach.

Lucas Perri on the other hand did not have the best of league debuts. He failed to save Pellegrino’s shot for the first goal, and spent the post-match interview explaining his mistake.

On the pitch, the Torino players consoled him after the error he made.

Italian outlet Toro have criticized the Brazilian after his first two games. Perri was a solid performer in his Coppa Italia showing against Monza, but looked shaky against Fiorentina.

Toro say that the 28-year old’s performances are ‘Jekyll and Hyde’ and because of that, a bit of uncertainty has grown around him.

He will have to step up his performance if he wants to join Torino on a permanent deal next summer.

Lucas Perri has a huge chance to turn things around

Last summer, the Brazilian came to Elland Road with a big fee and expectations. And at the start he did show some flashes that he could be trusted.

Unfortunately for him, injury ruled him out for a while, with Karl Darlow taking his place.

Perri never came back from the injury the same, as he made some blunders around the New Year. This saw him benched for the rest of the season, with Darlow taking over as number one.

Witht the club’s pursuit of James Trafford, it was time for Perri to find a way out.

He has been handed a lifeline by Torino this season, and he needs to prove himself in order to earn a move and turn things around.
