Leeds United are working on their transfer plans for the summer after playing brilliantly to finish 14th in their first season back in the Premier League.
Daniel Farke wants to see more ambition from the club, and the recruitment team are working on bringing in upgrades who are going to be difference makers in the team.
The Leeds recruitment team are open to bringing in reinforcements for their defence and forward line, and for now, they are content with their midfield options.
However, Leeds need player sales to make space in their wage bill as well as the need to get rid of deadwood, and the club are scheduled to hold talks for a major departure.
Leeds set to hold talks with Valencia CEO in England for Largie Ramazani
Largie Ramazani joined Valencia on loan from Leeds last summer, and a solid second half of the season meant that Los Che want him back in Spain next season.
Valencia were not left too impressed by his attitude towards the end of last season, which could have derailed Leeds’ plans to sell him this summer.
However, the Spanish giants seem interested in getting their hands on him, and according to AS, talks are scheduled to take place between Leeds and Valencia.
Valencia CEO Ron Gourlay has travelled to England for transfer talks, and he is set to meet Leeds officials soon for conversations over Ramazani’s transfer.
The Belgian would love to return to Valencia, and he is not a major part of Leeds’ plans, as Daniel Farke is not a fan.
Leeds would want to recoup as much of the £8.6m they paid for him. However, Valencia want the deal to be cheaper and a financial sacrifice from the player.
They are prepared to buy him if Leeds are ready to accept around £3.5m, and Ramazani is prepared to take a pay cut.
Norwich City are also interested in the winger and are prepared to pay a significant sum to sign him.
He needs to leave Leeds
Farke’s decision to switch systems midway through the season proved to be a turning point for Leeds, but it also reduced the importance of traditional wingers within the squad.
As a result, players such as Wilfried Gnonto and Daniel James found themselves playing more limited roles, while Noah Okafor was adapted into a more central attacking position.
That tactical change has left Largie Ramazani without a natural place in the current Leeds setup, and the club will be hoping that interest from Norwich City and Valencia develops into something concrete this summer.
Leeds and the player’s representatives are likely to want clarity on his future sooner rather than later, rather than allowing the situation to drag into pre-season.
Farke was never fully convinced by Ramazani during Leeds’ time in the Championship, and reports of concerns over his attitude during his loan spell at Valencia are unlikely to improve his standing with the manager.
With pre-season approaching, resolving the winger’s future is one issue Farke would no doubt prefer to have sorted before returning to work.
