Leeds United gem tipped for transfer exit

Leeds United have had an up and down stretch lately, but continue to avoid defeat but that won’t be enough this weekend.

Before the international break, Leeds United dropped two points from a winning position against leaders Sunderland. They led 2-1 late on but dropped the win due to a blunder from Illian Meslier.

They won the next two against Sheffield United and Watford, but were held to a 0-0 draw against Bristol City at Ashton Gate. Now level on points with Burnley in second spot, and five behind Sunderland at the top.

So they must win against Plymouth Argyle this weekend but there is a wider narrative ongoing about Plymouth.

Leeds United gem set for permanent switch

Leeds United gem Darko Gyabi has been plying his trade at Plymouth Argyle on loan under the management of Manchester United, Everton and England legend Wayne Rooney.

Now it is being suggested that Gyabi will stay at the club beyond this season with a permanent transfer likely.

“Darko Gyabi has been a solid midfield option for Argyle this season,” their Plymouth fan pundit said to Football League World.

“With consistent performances in recent games, showing he’s a very talented midfield player, it’s something which Argyle I believe will want to explore in terms of a permanent option.

“Since signing for Leeds United in the Kalvin Phillips swap deal, so far Darko Gyabi hasn’t seen much action for Leeds United.

“This is his second loan spell with Argyle, with some fans now enjoying his style of football after a very staggered start, particularly for the 4-0 loss we had to Sheffield Wednesday.

“He’s now a solid midfield option, which Wayne Rooney often selects in the starting XI, and his quality seems to be shining through.

“Although he didn’t score many goals last season, I believe he’ll continue to improve under Rooney’s guidance and therefore we’ll see some goals come from him.

“A permanent signing of Darko Gyabi would be a positive move for both himself, as well as for the club.

“However, I don’t believe Leeds will want to let him go for a cheap valuation, and I think that might help to price him out of our range.”
