Leeds United are set to travel to Brentford this weekend for a tough Premier League clash, and Keith Andrews has spoken about the Whites ahead of the big game.
The mood around Leeds has changed over the last week or so after they beat Chelsea 3-1 at home and then played out a pulsating 3-3 draw against Liverpool at Elland Road.
Leeds are now out of the relegation zone and sit 16th in the Premier League table. However, the task for the Whites are not getting any easier as their next game is an away trip to Brentford.
The Bees have a very strong home record, while Leeds have lost six of their seven Premier League games on the road this season. However, Keith Andrews is expecting a tough game.
Keith Andrews speaks about Leeds United ahead of the Brentford clash
Brentford’s home record means they are starting Sunday’s game as the favourites. Leeds are keen to improve their away record and put down a marker this weekend.
Andrews admitted that Leeds have shown enough resilience and character with their performances and results in the last three games against top teams.
He is also aware of the new system Leeds are playing at the moment, and insisted that his team are prepared for anything the Whites will throw at them.
The Brentford boss is confident that his team will do well, given their home record and the atmosphere the crowd can create for away teams at the Gtech Community Stadium.
“They are a resilient team who have shown a lot of character”, Andrews said in a press conference.
“In recent weeks, the results and performances they have had and the two systems they have operated in.
“We will prepare for both systems, obviously.
“However, we are in a good place at home, and how we operate, with the environment we create.”
Leeds’ away record needs to improve
If Leeds are to survive in the Premier League, they will largely depend on getting results at Elland Road this season. However, they can’t be this bad on the road.
Leeds have lost six of their seven league games away from home this season. If they continue to remain this bad on the road, it would be hard for them to compensate with results at home.

The Whites have lost a couple of close games during this run. However, they need to start picking up points if they are to remain above the relegation zone.
This would be a good time to improve things away from home, as after the Brentford game, they have trips lined up against Sunderland, Liverpool and Newcastle United in the coming weeks.
