Leeds United are set to sign Dominic Calvert-Lewin on a free transfer this summer after reaching an agreement over a contract with the former Everton striker. The Whites are keen to add more attacking talent before the transfer window closes on September 1st.
Calvert-Lewin is undergoing a medical at Thorp Arch today ahead of signing a contract to become a Leeds player. The 28-year-old striker is expected to be registered in time for him to be available to face his former side, Everton, when they visit Elland Road to take on Leeds in the Premier League opener on Monday night.
The former Everton forward’s injury issues mean Leeds are expected to bring in one more striker, apart from the winger and the attacking midfielder, the club are keen to sign before the September 1st transfer deadline.
Leeds have been linked with an interest in Panathinaikos striker Fotis Ioannidis, but the club are also open to adding one more forward with Premier League experience before the end of the transfer window.

Leeds United get the green light to chase Everton striker Beto
Beto is one of the Premier League strikers the club have been tracking all summer, and there has been a suspicion that he could be sold in the ongoing window.
He has been involved in Everton’s pre-season preparations, but it has been claimed that David Moyes had made up his mind about the forward ahead of the start of the new campaign.
According to Football Insider, Everton have told the forward that he can find a new club before the transfer window closes on September 1st.
The 27-year-old striker has been on Leeds’ radar and is now likely to leave the Hill Dickinson Stadium in the next couple of weeks.
Moyes has been left unimpressed by Beto’s attitude during pre-season and is unhappy that the striker has not followed his instructions on the pitch.
The Everton boss wants to move him on and secure a new striker as his replacement before the window closes in the next fortnight or so.
Will Leeds try to sign him?
The 27-year-old has Premier League experience and the physicality to fit Daniel Farke’s team of giants in the Premier League.
Leeds are looking at Ionnaidis, and have also been linked with a move for Aleksandar Mitrovic, but Beto could be an opportunity for a smart pick-up late in the window.
However, the Whites are unlikely to pay anywhere close to the £25m fee Everton paid for the striker a couple of years back.
Leeds could get into the mix for Beto if Everton are open to agreeing to a loan deal with a potential buy option.
