Leeds United handed advantage as Bournemouth dealing with serious injury doubt ahead of this weekend

Leeds United will be full of confidence going into this weekend’s game against Bournemouth. Andoni Iraola’s side will prove to be difficult opposition, but there is hope.

The Whites’ home form has been solid this season – they have beaten Everton, and held Newcastle to a draw. And now, Daniel Farke’s men will be buoyed by the 3-1 win away from home.

Leeds stars Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Noah Okafor scored their first goals for the club, which could prove to be huge boosts heading into the weekend.

Ahead of the game, Bournemouth will be dealing with an injury to a first team star. Lewis Cook missed the game against Newcastle, and could struggle to make the squad for this weekend. Cherries boss Andoni Iraola spoke to the Bournemouth Daily Echo, giving an update on Cook’s situation:

“Yes, there is probably different scenarios [surrounding absences] because I have to choose 20, even Matai [Akinmboni] was not involved in the squad,”

“In the case of Lewis Cook it was because of an injury.

“He fell in training this week, an ugly position and he hurt his shoulder. Nothing in the bone, you know, but the ligaments around the shoulder he was feeling a lot of pain and he was very sore and he tried the last two days managing the pain but he was not running even naturally.

“And I hope he improves and he can be available next week.

“But it’s true that he had a shoulder injury and I don’t know if he’s going to be available next week.”

Whites to find out update on two players this week

Leeds also have some injury doubts of their own after the Wolves game. Jayden Bogle was substituted after he was stepped on late in the game. He went down and was assessed by the medical staff who deemed him unfit to continue. James Justin came on to see out the game. After the match Daniel Farke said Bogle will be assessed, as his foot was very swollen.

Lucas Perri will also be evaluated as he has missed the last two games with injury. The Brazilian keeper is expected to return this weekend, but Daniel Farke did say a decision could be made midweek.
