Leeds United handed unexpected boost

Leeds United had 13 of their players called up for the November international break.

Ao Tanaka, Junior Firpo, Brenden Aaronson, Dan James, and Joe Rodon were all among the players called. Leeds had an issue with the national teams during the last international break, as the club’s players were still in action 72 hours before the next league game.

Daniel Farke was unhappy that his players arrived late, but Leeds still won their game. This international break schedule was better for the Leeds United boss; almost every player would return with at least three days to rest before the game against Swansea.

Leeds United will face Swansea this weekend when the league returns to action. The Whites currently sit in third place in the league, two points behind the leaders.

Leeds fans will be pleased to hear that no player has been injured during the break. Joe Rodon went down with a knock during Wales’ Nations League game against Turkey, but it did not look severe and he played the full 90 minutes. Ao Tanaka, Wilfried Gnonto, Mateo Joseph, Joe Rodon, Karl Darlow, Dan James, Charlie Crew and Junior Firpo will also be in action later today.

Daniel Farke breathed a sigh of relief as the USMNT provided an update on Brenden Aaronson when he was absent from the USA squad to face Jamaica. The midfielder was carrying a small illness and was not fit to play.

USMNT boss Mauricio Pochettino chose to play Aaronson for just 20 minutes in their win over Jamaica in the CONCACAF Gold cup. Which means the Leeds United star has only featured in 20 minutes out of a possible 180 during the break, which is great news for the club. Aaronson has been key for Daniel Farke this campaign; he has four goals and is the second top scorer at the club. The midfielder has also created four big chances in the league but only has one assist so far.

Aaronson responded to critics of his playing style, saying that he is a more well-rounded player than people think. His critics have said he is just a “limited runner”.

Good news at Elland Road

It has been smooth sailing so far for Leeds United during this international break. Daniel Farke, and the Leeds fans will hope this continues. The club can’t afford more injuries with their current situation.
