Leeds United seem to be feeling the effects of not strengthening the attack in the last days of the transfer window. After Daniel Farke’s comments, most fans expected a big signing before the deadline.
But outside a failed move for Facundo Buonanotte, who is now at Chelsea, and Fulham pulling the plug on Harry Wilson, nothing happened. Leeds spent clos to £100million on transfers in the window, and only a fraction of it went into improving the attack. Daniel Farke was handed two free transfers in Lukas Nmecha and Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Noah Okafor on a permanent deal.
The latest result against Fulham has now raised more concerns about the individuals in the club’s attack.

Leeds United could be in for attackers in January

Leeds have played five matches in all competitions so far, and have only found the back of the net twice. Only one attacker at the club has scored this season – Lukas Nmecha. The only other player with a goal to his name is Jayden Bogle. The more the club’s attacking woes continues, the more people set their sights on January.
Pete O’Rourke of Football Insider has said that the Whites’ priority could be signing an attacker come January:
“Obviously they were in the market for an attacking player right up until deadline day – Leeds have yet to score a goal in open play in the Premier League in three games.
“[Lukas] Nmecha has been leading the line in the first few games of season, while [Dominic] Calvert-Lewin came on and did quite well against Newcastle.
“If he can stay fit, he could prove to be a real asset for Leeds United, so there are options there for Daniel Farke’s team.
“It’s obvious they will need a regular goalscorer if they are to have any chance of staying up.”
Fulham game was an eye-opener for Daniel Farke
After Saturday’s game, Daniel Farke flat out mentioned that he cannot get what is expected from the current set of players in attack. Fulham’s new £34.6million signing Kevin coming on and having a huge impact on the game only worsened the situation.
The ownership should have done more in that area before the window closed, and they could pay dearly for it this season.
