Former Championship star Sam Parkin has backed Leeds United to beat Burnley on Saturday due to them being more settled under Daniel Farke at this stage of the season.
Leeds are a point and two spots ahead of Burnely in the Championship table after four games and both have been tipped for automatic promotion to the Premier League this season.
Farke is likely to have decisions to make on his team selection as 12 players were away on international duty and some like Brenden Aaronson are likely to return late.
Burnley have their own selection issues due to injuries and as many as nine players could be missing from their squad at Elland Road on Saturday.
However, Parkin insisted that Leeds look more settled compared to a Burnley side that went through a squad upheaval, losing 21 players in the summer transfer window.
Leeds United are creating more and looking defensively solid
Analysing the performances of both teams this season, Parkin stressed that Leeds are creating more chances than Burnley and the latter’s goal tally is not a fair reflection of the poor quality of chances they have been conjuring.
He pointed out that Leeds have recovered from their defensive lapses at the start of the season and the whole unit are now looking meaner and calmer at the back.
The former Championship star believes given the more settled unit at Leeds, they should beat Burnley at Elland Road on Saturday.
“They are creating a lot in comparison to Burnley”, Parkin said on the What The EFL Podcast.
“Burnley’s return of ten goals flatters them greatly in comparison to what they have been creating.
“All of a sudden, after the debacle of the opening two games where they conceded six, the Leeds back-five have looked solid.
“I make Leeds the favourites.
“Just with the continuity that they have with Daniel Farke and less carnage, I’d fancy them to win this one narrowly.”
