Leeds United have major doubts ahead of Plymouth clash – Four players could be out on Saturday

Leeds United have won promotion to the Premier League as of last week. Daniel Farke can add another trophy to his cabinet on the final day of the season this weekend.

All his side have to do is pick up a win away from home to Plymouth. Title rivals Burnley will have home advantage on Saturday, as they host Millwall. Scott Parker’s side already have a player ruled out, as Zian Flemming is ineligible to face his parent club.

Leeds and Burnley are level on points on top of the table, which means the Whites just need to match their opponent’s results to win the league title. Daniel Farke has turned things around for the club, just last year, Leeds lost the playoff final. Now they are on the verge of winning the Championship.

The Whites will not have the advantage of Elland Road this weekend. Leeds have scored 10 goals in the last two games on their home grounds. Plymouth have been all but relegated, but Daniel Farke’s men will have to be wary. The Pilgrims pulled off a shock win over Sheffield United last month.

Ahead of the game, Farke confirmed that Leeds have some injury problems. Dan James, Junior Firpo, Joe Rothwell and Isaac Schmidt are doubts for Saturday:

“Firpo has some light hamstring problems after the last game and it will be a tight call. He has not been able to train, he could train tomorrow.

“Dan James has slightly improved, but also today – no team training. If he is in team training tomorrow, of course he will travel with us tomorrow due to his importance. But another tight race for him,”

It looks like most of the team selection will be decided in Friday’s training session.

“Isaac Schmidt had knee problems and it has not settled. There is still a chance, but it will be a tight call. Good news with Joe Rothwell, he can train today with us – he won’t be able to play for 90 minutes.

“But he could be a member of the squad if he comes through training today and tomorrow.”

The team can still pull through

Dan James out of the team is still a major absence. But the team has done well to share the goals since the winger got injured. Leeds will be confident that they can put away bottom-placed Plymouth.

Piroe, Solomon and even Bogle have chipped in with crucial goals. Daniel Farke will be fine without some key players on Saturday.
