Leeds United have accelerated their efforts to add new faces to their squad this week as they strive to build a team capable of competing and surviving in the Premier League next season.
Newcastle United midfielder Sean Longstaff is expected to complete his £15m move to Leeds after undergoing a medical with the club on Thursday. The Whites have also intensified talks to sign Anton Stach, who has agreed to personal terms on a contract with the Yorkshire giants this summer.
Leeds are also putting in a real effort to add more goals and creativity to their squad as they are aware that they need goal scorers in their squad to keep themselves in the Premier League next season.
The Whites have received encouragement from Fulham striker Rodrigo Muniz’s camp over a move after making progress in talks with his entourage and are pushing hard to sign Feyenoord winger Igor Paixao in the ongoing transfer window.

Leeds United are unsure about Feyenoord’s big asking price for Igor Paixao

Leeds have made a real effort to sign the 25-year-old Brazilian winger from Feyenoord and met his representatives earlier this week to present their project.
The winger could miss the start of the season due to an injury, but that has not deterred Leeds from trying to take him to Elland Road this summer.
However, according to journalist Sacha Tavolieri, Leeds are wary of meeting Feyenoord’s asking price for the winger in the ongoing transfer window.
The Dutch giants are looking to earn a minimum of around £30m from the winger’s sale, and Leeds are not keen to pay such a figure for him this summer.
The Whites are also aware that Feyenoord are in no mood to accept a lower fee and have already rejected a bid from French giants Marseille for the Brazilian.
Leeds are holding internal discussions about whether to pursue his signature, but the club have no doubts about Paixao’s quality and believe he can make an instant impact in the Premier League.
Leeds must pay up if they are sure about his quality
Paixao scored 18 goals and registered 19 assists in 47 appearances in all competitions for Feyenoord last season and was the pick of their players.
While there is no guarantee that he can emulate those numbers in the Premier League, Leeds seem convinced about his quality and have held talks with the player.
With wide players going for big fees in the summer, Feyenoord are more than justified in demanding in excess of £30m from Paixao’s departure in the ongoing window.
Leeds must be aware that forwards are not going to be cheap, and if they believe the Brazilian is the real deal, they must pay the going rate for wide players and get the deal over the line.
Pay up!
Just pay it. The kid will be the fairydust on top of a good window
