Daniel Farke and Leeds United have began work trying to recruit players ahead of this summer. With the club set to play Premier League football, the squad depth and quality has to match.
Fans will be hoping this upcoming window is as good as the last transfer window when Leeds won promotion. Back in 2020, the Whites signed Robin Koch, Raphinha and Rodrigo Moreno. Three players that played a huge part in the team surviving and even finishing in the top half of the league.
With just weeks till the end of the season in the championship, the club have already been linked with a whole host of players this summer.

Reports over the past few weeks have hinted that Leeds could be in the market for a new goalkeeper, and some believe a new striker will be brought in to replace Joel Piroe.
According to Sky Germany reporter Florian Plettenburg, Julian Weigl is a serious target for Leeds United. The 29-year old played under Daniel Farke during their time at Borussia Mönchengladbach. Contact has been established between the midfielder’s representatives and Leeds as they try to weigh his opinion on moving to England.
Weigl has one year left on his current deal, and could be sold to prevent losing him for free next year.
Will Julian Weigl’s wages be a problem?
Plettenburg adds that Weigl is one of the highest paid players at Gladbach, with his wages around £3million per year. That is roughly in the range of £55,000 to 60,000-per-week, which would make him top three highest paid players at Elland Road.

At 29 years old, he would also be the oldest player among the highest earners. Weigl is a good player, and knows Daniel Farke’s system – he could be invaluable in the Premier League next season.
