Leeds United in negotiations to complete permanent deal for Fulham star

Leeds United boss Daniel Farke asked for attacking additions since the start of the season, and has only gotten two signings. Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Noah Okafor.

But in these first few games of the season, it has been quite clear that the team will need more than that to survive in the Premier League. Leeds have looked subpar going forward, and even in the midweek game vs Sheffield Wednesday, the quality was lacking. The team needs someone who has the quality to drive them forward from midfield, and an option up top who can actually finish chances.

In four games this season, Leeds have scored just one goal from open play – scored by fullback Jayden Bogle. Which is not a good sign, considering how much has been invested in the attack so far.

Leeds United close in on Harry Wilson deal

It was reported earlier that the Whites were in talks with Fulham over a move for Harry Wilson. Then conflicting reports emerged that the London club had rejected a loan bid from Leeds. Joe Donnohue is now confirming that a loan bid was pushed back, but the Whites are negotiating a permanent deal for the Fulham man.

Marco Silva’s side are themselves pushing to bring in new additions, mostly in attack. This is said to be the reason why Wilson could be sold before the transfer deadline. David Ornstein reported that Chelsea star Tyrique George is headed to Craven Cottage, which could open the door for a permanent move for Harry Wilson.

Club still need an attacking threat up front

Looking at the performances of Joel Piroe, Lukas Nmecha and Dominic Calvert-Lewin so far, it is quite clear that none of them are finishers you can depend on. And at the Premier League level, failing to convert your chances will be severely punished.

If a deal for Wilson is in the works, Leeds should also focus on adding one more attacker who can find the back of the net.
