Leeds United boss Daniel Farke spent most of pre-season asking the club to reinforce the attack. The Whites had missed out on deals for Igor Paixao and Rodrigo Muniz.
But this past week, the club signed Dominic Calvert-Lewin. Even with that signing, Farke said the club could add another striker considering the injury records of Lukas Nmecha and Calvert-Lewin.
”I wouldn’t rule out another striker signing because you always have to be awake until the last second if there is an opportunity. There are a few doubts due to the injury records of Dominic and Lukas. I wouldn’t rule it out but the focus is also on other positions. In general, we need more quality and options upfront.”
Nmecha was the goalscorer as Leeds won their first game of the Premier League season. The Whites recorded a 1-0 win over Everton at Elland Road. He scored from an 84th minute penalty, which James Tarkowski thought was controversial.

Caught Offside are reporting that their sources claim Matthis Abline is the latest target for Leeds United. The Whites are said to be leading the race to sign the Frenchman, who scored nine goals in Ligue 1 last season.
Per the report, Leeds and Nantes have began negotiations, and sources close to the player say he is open to a move. Wolverhampton Wanderers also have their eye on the 22-year old this summer. It is rumoured that a potential fee for the striker could be in excess of £21.6million this summer.
How does Abline fit into the team?
Matthis Abline is a dynamic forward who can play across the front line. He can play both flanks as well as being the focal point of the attack. At Nantes he played in a team that often got their chances in transition, which would make him a good fit for the Leeds team.

It is likely that he will fill in one of the wide roles when he arrives. Joel Piroe and Dominic Calvert-Lewin are most likely to battle it out to be the starting striker, while Lukas Nmecha will fill in a variety of roles behind the main striker.
