Daniel Farke will have some tough decisions to make this summer. The Leeds United squad will need reinforcements to make sure the club can properly make a case for survival in the Premier League.

Some positions in the team will need some signings as backups, while other roles will need immediate upgrades. This season, despite having an attack that scored 95 goals, Brenden Aaronson still found a way to perform below expectations. Daniel Farke already mentioned that he was happy with the attacking midfielder’s contribution to the team. But going into the Premier League next season, there are already questions about his place in the team.

This summer, Leeds will have a healthy amount to spend on transfers according to reports. A figure of £150million has been mentioned, after club chairman Paraag Marathe vowed to help the team to maintain their top flight status.

It looks like the Whites have found one of their first potential signings this summer. According to The Sunday Mirror, Leeds have revived their interest in Manchester City star James McAtee. The club were serious competitors to sign the England youth international since last year, but Pep Guardiola chose to keep him at the Etihad stadium.

But with the 22-year old eyeing first team football this summer, he could leave Manchester. McAtee has just one year left on his current deal, and a fee of £25million has been rumoured. Nottingham Forest, West Ham and a whole host of other Premier League clubs are said to be interested.

McAtee could be Leeds’ next number 10

The midfielder has been limited to cameos this season, but when he was on loan at Sheffield United a year before that, he showed his quality. Nine goals and three assists in the Championship for a team that made the Premier League is an impressive feat.

McAtee may still be young, but he has already shown he can make an impact at Premier League and Champions League level. For £25million, Leeds would be getting a steal.
