Leeds United launch enquiry for striker who scored 14 Premier League goals last season – 49ers mean business

Jorgen Strand Larsen Leeds United

In the summer, Leeds United were looking to add some quality in attack to the team after winning promotion. Many big names were linked, which excited the fanbase.

But the club only managed to bring in Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Noah Okafor and Lukas Nmecha. These signings seemed very underwhelming at first, with fans complaining about signing two injury prone players.

Since then, Nmecha and Calvert-Lewin have proven why they have been really good pickups for the Whites. Okafor has had a mixed season, but has shown flashes of quality in the first team.

Leeds United make enquiry for Jorgen Strand Larsen

Leeds ended last year playing some of the best football they have shown this season. Daniel Farke’s team selections and tactical switches were spot on as the Whites went on a six-game unbeaten run. What was more impressive was some of the results they got against bigger sides; they beat Chelsea and Crystal Palace while holding Liverpool at Anfield a few weeks ago.

Fans know that they will have to keep this form up from now till the end of the season if they really want to stay up. Since the transfer window opened, the club have been looking at making some moves. They recently signed summer target Facundo Buonanotte on loan for the rest of the season, and it seems like the are about to add more quality up top.

David Ornstein of The Athletic has revealed that Leeds United are one of the clubs to have made a formal enquiry for Wolves striker Jorgen Strand Larsen. The 25-year old is highly sought after and could be on his way out with how his club have performed this season.

Club could do with more goalscorers

Leeds have played some very good football this season, but it seems like in certain games they lack the cutting edge in front of goal. That cost them many points at the start of the season, until Dominic Calvert-Lewin found his scoring boots. The England man has netted eight goals in the Premier League and has been one of the Whites’ best players.

Jørgen Strand Larsen Last Three Seasons
Season Club Games Played Goals Assists
2023/24 Celta Vigo 39 13 3
2024/25 Wolves 38 14 5
2025/26 Wolves 23 6 2

The 49ers need to complement that with another goal threat in Jorgen Strand Larsen; Leeds do not have many players in their starting lineup that are clinical in front of goal. Taking a huge step to solve an issue like this shows that the ownership are very serious about survival at the end of the season.
