Leeds United legend rages with excitement for rising star

IMAGO / Every Second Media

Leeds United secured their second straight win with a 2-1 victory over Watford on Tuesday night at Elland Road. One attacker impressed Stuart Dallas, who is confident that the player will continue to shine.

Leeds made an explosive start, finding the net twice within the first 10 minutes. Largie Ramazani opened the scoring in the fourth minute, followed by Brenden Aaronson, who added another just three minutes later, giving Leeds an early advantage.

Watford managed to score early in the second half, but Leeds United fended off their attempts and clinched a 2-1 victory, earning all three points. After the midweek matches, Leeds sits in third place, tied on 22 points with Burnley, though the Clarets hold the edge on goal differential.

Stuart Dallas praises Mateo Joseph for his efforts

Fans will hope that Mateo Joseph continues this form after his return to Elland Road

Following the win over the Hornets on Tuesday, the former Leeds defender spotlighted Mateo Joseph for his performance. Dallas mentioned that the young goal scorer has been putting in a lot of effort behind the scenes to enhance his physicality, which is essential for a center-forward.

“He came on with a point to prove [against Sheffield United],” Dallas told LUTV (h/t LeedsUnited.News). “He did so well to score, he’s a strong boy is Mateo. He’s worked so hard on the physical side of the game and it is paying off.”

Joseph is scoring goals at an impressive rate with Spain at the youth level, but the concern has been translating that production to playing as the No. 9 for Leeds United. As a result, if Joseph is putting the work behind the scenes to ensure he’s ready to take advantage of the goal-scoring chances, then it’s only a matter of time before his hard work pays off.

If the Yorkshire side intend to earn promotion to the Premier League next season, it will all depend on Joseph’s performances this season. Leeds United aim for their third consecutive win as they travel to Ashton Gate to take on ninth-placed Bristol City in the Championship.

The Robins are coming off a 2-2 draw with Stoke City, so Daniel Farke’s side will need to keep up their momentum after two home victories to stay at the top of the table in this closely contested race.
