Leeds United will know that they do not have a lot of time before next season. The Championship playoffs will end soon, and the Premier League will come to an end this weekend.
Then, there are just 83 days to the start of the new season. Within this time, Leeds have to assess their squad, sign new players, have a pre season before a ball is kicked in August. Preparation is key to gel all your signings in time. If Leeds are to have a good campaign next year, they have to avoid what happened at the start of this season.
Daniel Farke had to be vocal about transfers during press conferences before this season began. After losing Archie Gray, Crysencio Summerville, Georginio Rutter and Glen Kamara, the arrivals were not coming in fast enough.

There were a lot of signings late into the transfer window, with some happening within days of the deadline. Leeds still survived and managed to have a great season, winning promotion with a 100 points and scoring 95 goals. The Whites must no that a slow start in the Premier League will be disastrous.
This could be the reason why the club are pushing for their first signing this summer. According to The Sunday Mirror, Leeds are set to reignite their interest in St. Gallen striker Willem Geubbels. The 23-year old has 17 goals in all competitions this season. Geubbels reportedly has a £4.6million release clause this summer.
The Frenchman will attract interest across Europe this summer.
Geubbels could be a valuable bargain
Geubbels is the latest in a line of striking options recently, after Jamie Vardy and Callum Wilson.
Leeds have had success with bargains like Illia Gruev, Wilfried Gnonto and Ao Tanaka, with all three costing less than £10million. Price tag does not always determine quality, and Geubbels is proof – 24 league goals in two and a half seasons is a good tally. He would come in with more goal involvements than Gnonto had at Zurich.
In the Premier League, you can never have enough attackers, Leeds United need to close this deal.

Bit of a gamble.
