Leeds United line up huge move for striker after recent signing – could open door for more exits

Leeds United boss Daniel Farke was keen on adding some firepower to the attack ahead of next season. The Whites scored 95 goals in the Championship, but the Premier League is a different level.

Factoring in the departure of Manor Solomon, the urge to add another attacking option to the team was a priority. Leeds announced the signing of Lukas Nmecha over the weekend. The German forward will officially join next month when his current deal with Wolfsburg expires.

This adds one big name to the current options at center forward. Leeds could go into next season with Nmecha, Piroe, Bamford and Joseph competing for a starting role in attack.

Now that the Whites have confirmed the first arrival of the window, more business is in the pipeline. Fans would assume the arrival of Nmecha would mean that the search for a striker is over, but the latest news reveals that it is far from finished.

Graham Smyth has revealed that Leeds will be in the market for another striker this summer. The report also states that the Whites could make up to five more additions to the squad. Nmecha was added to boost the physicality in the squad. His versatility means he can fill a number of roles in the attack next season.

The recruitment team are looking to raise the level of the starting XI to compete in the Premier League.

Other players could be in danger

Nmecha’s arrival already means one attacker moves down the pecking order. And if Leeds are keen to add another, there is a high chance one player will be sold. The current center forward options with the new arrival are: Lukas Nmecha, Joel Piroe, Mateo Joseph and Patrick Bamford.

If a new striker is added, there is a very high chance one of Mateo Joseph and Patrick Bamford leave. Joseph has interest in him and could be sold for a profit, while the club could be keen to offload Bamford’s wages this summer.
