With the January window approaching, questions will be asked about what will happen at Leeds United. Daniel Farke recently answered a question about the upcoming window, by saying it is the ‘job of the owners’.
After what happened in the summer window, many fans are sceptical if the 49ers will spend at all. The talk of ‘maxing out’ PSR when the club chiefs met the media has seen everyone be cautious of what could happen. Graham Smyth believes that the ownership will deliver next month.
Leeds have experienced a little turnaround in fortune the last couple of weeks; they have taken points off Chelsea, Liverpool and Bournemouth. Farke, who was tipped to be sacked, now has the backing of the players and the fans. The Whites shook off their poor road form last weekend as they managed a draw away to Brentford.
Leeds United linked with shock move for Brennan Johnson
When discussing which part of the pitch Leeds need the most help with, the attack stands out. The club are one of the least potent attacking units in the competitions, and that has cost them some games. Bringing in some quality in that part of the pitch could help steer them to safety.
Fortunately, there is a Premier League star who finds himself out of favour and is willing to move in January. According to TEAMtalk, Spurs have given the green light for Brennan Johnson to leave. Thomas Frank has already lined up potential replacements for the Welsh international, opening the door for him to leave when January arrives.

Forward would be a perfect fit for new system
Brennan Johnson would be a solid addition to this Leeds United team. He made his named playing in a front two for Forest in the Championship and the Premier League – scoring more than 20 goals in all competitions. And if Farke decides to continue with the 4-2-3-1, the Welsh international is a great fit on the right wing.
| Season | Games | Goals | Assists |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2022/23 | 44 | 10 | 3 |
| 2023/24 | 32 | 5 | 10 |
| 2024/25 | 51 | 18 | 4 |
The competition there this season has been almost non-existent, with Brenden Aaronson even featuring there for a couple of matches. Johnson would be a great threat on the counter attack with his pace; which suits the more direct style the Whites have been playing in recent games. It may be impossible to land him, considering the current suitors involved, but a deal for the 24-year old would be a huge coup for Leeds.
