After signing on loan for Blackburn last week, Poveda made an instant impact in their game against Middlesbrough this weekend as he set up Sam Gallagher for the opening goal.
It was a bright start for Poveda, who won the ball back high up the pitch before laying it off to Gallagher who then smashed it into the top right corner of the goal. Leeds fans are used to seeing this kind of energetic pressing from Poveda and it was nice to see it result in a goal.
League 1 promotion hero Jonny Howson grabbed an equaliser in the 36th minute, before both sides would get a man sent off in the second half. Poveda will undoubtedly be pleased with an assist, but will be disappointed Rovers couldn’t grab the three points.
