Daniel Farke’s biggest decision for Leeds United this season has left a ripple effect that will be felt this summer. Benching Illan Meslier lead to the club winning the league, and now it could set the tone for the summer.
After the two major errors against Swansea, Farke decided enough was enough. Fans had complained about Meslier’s flops earlier in the season, but Leeds kept faith in him till the run in. Karl Darlow stepped in an he kept four clean sheets and conceded just three goals in seven games to end the season.
Now with the campaign over, Farke’s decision could directly lead to the first exit from Elland Road this summer. Illan Meslier could be the first name out of the door, as his place has seemingly been confirmed before the first Premier League game next season.

Leeds are already in the market for a replacement. The club have been linked with multiple names over the last few months. Aaron Ramsdale, Sam Johnstone and James Trafford are just some of the names rumoured to join the Whites this summer.
It finally looks like the club have settled on a first choice. According to TEAMtalk, Leeds are seriously considering a move for Djordje Petrovic. The Chelsea star has been on loan at Strasbourg this season, where he has made an impression. Leeds see Petrovic as the ideal candidate to be the club’s number one in the Premier League next season.
Chelsea are yet to decide what to do with the Serbian, who will return from his loan this summer. A huge fee could sway the Blues, with the Whites prepared to spend £30million on a new keeper.

Petrovic is the ideal modern keeper built for the Premier League. He deputised for Robert Sanchez in goal last season and showed a lot of potential.

This season, as full time first choice at Strasbourg, he has put up a phenomenal campaign. 10 clean sheets, 109 saves and eight goals prevented ranks near the top of the league for every category. If Leeds manage to snap him up, it would be a bargain.
