Leeds United continue their search to find quality to add to the team this summer. Daniel Farke knows the squad needs to be improved ahead of next season.

The club will be given enough funds, after club chairman Paraag Marathe vowed to help the club maintain their Premier League status. The current squad is in a weird situation; last summer Leeds failed to replace Archie Gray, Georginio Rutter and Crysencio Summerville but still managed to be promoted. Showing how great of a coach Daniel Farke is.

This summer transfer window will be an important one for the club, as they look to improve areas for next season. There are some holes in the squad that need to be addressed.

Leeds are yet to bring in a goalkeeper after news that Illan Meslier would leave this summer. The Whites have been linked to multiple targets, but a deal has not yet been agreed.

Now, it looks like the club are keen on adding depth at fullback. Liverpool’s Kostas Tsimikas has been linked over the past week. According to Ben Jacobs, Leeds have also made an approach for West Ham star Vladimir Coufal:

“Vladimir Coufal may be a market opportunity as well. I’m told that Leeds and Everton are the two clubs that have enquired for him. So, there is substance to both of those links for sure and like I said a moment ago, I’m fully expecting Leeds to explore the goalkeeper market.”

Coufal will be available as a free agent as his contract expires this summer. Everton are also keenly interested.

Improving depth is key

Jayden Bogle will be the first choice heading into the Premier League. But outside him, the depth in the position is quite thin. And with Sam Byram’s future still not decided, adding another fullback would be a wise option.

Coufal comes with a lot of experience and some versatility, which could allow Daniel Farke to switch to a back three. Signing the 32-year old on a free is good business.
