Leeds United were handed another defeat in the Premier League away from home. The optimism the fanbase entered the international break with seems to be far gone.
Daniel Farke tried to shake things up by handing starts to Brenden Aaronson, Noah Okafor and Dominic Calvert-Lewin. Two of the three were starting their first league game of the season. After a poor run of form in front of goal, maybe Farke expected something to click.
Unfortunately, this lineup produced the same result as previous ones. It was a stale game for a large part of the 90 minutes, and the match only came to life near the end. Eventually, Fulham found the breakthrough in added time, as Gabriel Gudmundsson headed the ball into the back of his own net to give Marco Silva’s side all three points.

Leeds United lack a game changer

Late in the second half, when it looked like both sides were going to share the points, both teams looked to their bench. Leeds called on Jack Harrison and Lukas Nmecha, while Fulham brought on big money signing Kevin.
It was the Brazilian that ended up being the gamechanger for the home side. He provided an injection of pace and trickery, and Leeds could not handle him down the flank. Daniel Farke’s side was set up deep but the Brazilian winger still found ways of causing havoc. The 22-year old eventually had a shot on target which lead to the corner that produced the own goal.
Saturday’s game asked a lot of questions of Leeds, and they could not answer.
Largie Ramazani is having an ‘electric’ start to the season
Leeds had a player similar to Kevin in their squad a few weeks ago. But the club gave Largie Ramazani the green light to join Valencia in Spain. Though the Belgian had yet to hit the ground running in England, his talent was undeniable. Even as a substitute for a large part last season, he was involved in 13 goals.
Ramazani provided an immediate impact on his debut for the La Liga side. He came off the bench to provide the assist in a 3-0 win for Valencia.
5 touches, 4/4 passes and 1 assist tonight. Tongue in cheek, but Ramazani having more league assists in 11 minutes on his Valencia debut than Leeds across our opening two PL matches is pretty funny.

That sequence showed what the winger is about; pace, trickery and picking the right pass into the box. His teammate Diego Lopez has already praised his impact so far: “The transfer window has been very good; we’ve added players up front who can contribute a lot, which is great news”
“Having so many talented players is good because it creates competition.
“Ramazani is electric, very skilled. Everyone is going to contribute a lot; they have real talent.”
