Leeds United make massive call for the January window

Leeds United sit third in the Championship table and are one of the favourites to get automatic promotion to the Premier League this season. However, some believe Leeds’ decisions in the winter transfer window could go on to define their season.

The Whites finished the summer transfer window with a bang after watching their squad getting dismantled following their failure to get promoted last season.

Several new players were signed towards the end of the window to bolster Daniel Farke’s options and it seems that decision has paid off as the Whites are in contention to get back to the Premier League.

However, there is a feeling that Leeds need to act again in January and bring further reinforcements for Farke’s squad if they do not want to run out of steam towards the end of the season.

Farke is keen to add more players to his squad in the winter window and Leeds are planning to make sure that they are in a good position to do some incoming business.

Leeds board take a big call ahead of the winter window

According to the Football Insider, the Leeds board are getting ready to make more money available to Farke for the January transfer window.

The Whites hierarchy want to support the manager and are aware of the importance of promotion to the top flight for the club’s financial health moving forward.

Leeds are keen to make sure that Farke has the required funds to spend and further strengthen the squad for the latter half of the season.

The race for promotion is going to be tight and the Leeds board realise that the manager will need all the help that he can get, especially in the winter window.

Injuries to Ethan Ampadu and Ilia Gruev mean Leeds could mean reinforcements in defence and midfield in January.

Josuha Guilavogui was brought in on a free transfer but he has only played 32 minutes and a better-quality replacement could be sought in the winter window.

This should encourage the Leeds fans that their board are prepared to reach deep into their pockets in January to ensure the club get promoted this season.
