Leeds United suffered a shock defeat to Burnley at Turf Moor on Saturday afternoon. Daniel Farke continues to look for his second career win against the Clarets since he arrived in England.
Last season, the Whites failed to beat the Clarets in two attempts in the Championship. And today, how Scott Parker’s men started the game off quickly. Lesley Ugochukwu latched on to a cross from Kyle Walker to score the opener in the first 20 minutes. Leeds failed to get a reply before half time, but in the second half, they dominated proceedings.
Daniel Farke’s men should have gone ahead but poor finishing let the team down. A long range effort from Luon Tchouana sealed all three points for Scott Parker’s side late in the second period.

Farke’s lineup against Burnley raised some eyebrows initially, with Jack Harrison earning his first start of the season. The winger had to fill in after injuries to Noah Okafor and Wilfried Gnonto.
Lucas Perri returned to the matchday squad on Saturday, which meant there was no place for Illan Meslier. The French keeper is now back in the wilderness; he only made recent matchday squads as Perri was unavailable due to injury. From now till January, it is very likely that Meslier remains in training, but not with the squad on matchdays. Many reports have indicated that he could leave when the January window opens.
Leeds United eyeing new French goalkeeper
According to L’Equipe, Leeds United are keen on Lille goalkeeper Lisandru Olmeta. The French outlet reports that the Whites have already made contact with Olmeta’s representatives regarding a potential transfer. Italian club Parma is also reported to be interested in the 20-year-old shot-stopper.
However, it remains unclear whether Lille would be willing to sell the youngster at this time. Olmeta is with the French U20 national team at the FIFA U20 World Cup, where he has featured in every game, keeping two clean sheets and conceding only three goals throughout the tournament. The 20-year old is currently on loan at Ligue 2 side SC Bastia but has yet to make his debut for them this season
