Leeds United are in the market to bring in attacking reinforcements in the winter transfer window. The club are adding several names to their shortlist, and one of them has Erling Haaland’s public endorsement.
Daniel Farke is aware that Leeds need more options in the final third despite their recent goalscoring spree. He believes the squad lack proper options for the forward line.
Since switching to a 5-3-2, Leeds have looked more of an attacking threat in the final third, and have scored eight Premier League goals in the last three games.
| Stat | 4-3-3 | 3-5-2 | Total |
|---|---|---|---|
| Minutes played | 1,035 | 135 | 1,170 |
| Goals scored | 11 | 5 | 16 |
| Minutes per goal | 94.09 | 27.00 | 73.13 |
However, the limitations remain, and Leeds lack the real quality and depth required to ensure that they remain a Premier League club by the end of the season.
Leeds United are eyeing a move for Jens Petter Hauge, who Erling Haaland loves
Jens Petter Hauge is emerging as a top target for several Premier League clubs ahead of the winter transfer window because of his performances at Bogo Glimt.
He is not only impressive in the Norwegian top tier but has also done well in the Champions League, scoring three times in six appearances in the ongoing season.
The Norwegian league season is over. However, his performances in Europe have piqued the interest of several Premier League clubs ahead of the winter window.
| Competition | Matches | Goals | Assists |
|---|---|---|---|
| Champions League | 6 | 3 | 0 |
| Champions League Qualifiers | 2 | 0 | 4 |
| NM-Cup | 1 | 1 | 0 |
| Total 2026 | 9 | 4 | 4 |
According to TEAMTalk, Leeds are among the five Premier League clubs who are keeping tabs on Hauge ahead of finalising a move in January.
Crystal Palace, Brighton and Brentford sent scouts to watch him in action recently, and Leeds and Everton are ramping up their interest in him.
Hauge is a winger who can play on both flanks and has the ability to play down the middle as an attacking midfielder as well. His tactical flexibility makes him a valuable option for any manager.
Haaland is a huge admirer
Haaland is Hauge’s teammate in the Norwegian national team, and the duo are expected to play together in the World Cup next season.
They are also friends, and the Manchester City superstar has been an admirer of the winger for years. Following Hauge’s move to AC Milan, Haaland publicly praised the forward.
“Hauge is my friend. Keep an eye on him,” Haaland said in an interview in 2020.
“They have taken in a real talent, and he’s playing at a beautiful club in Milan. They’re in an excellent league, and they can do great things.”
Hauge is interested in a mid-season move to the Premier League and would be prepared to assess concrete offers on his table in the January window.
Since joining Bodo on loan in January 2024, Hauge has gone on to make 210 appearances, delivering a standout tally of 59 goals and 52 assists.
