After they drew Portsmouth at Elland Road, The 49ers have finally realised the dire situation they are in right now. The absence of Crysencio Summerville was bitterly felt as Leeds failed to win an in-hand match at home.
Summerville left for West Ham United in a deal worth £25 million plus add-ons a few weeks ago. The Dutchman brought creativity and goal-scoring threat to the table, something the club found useful in their last campaign.
Leeds United have good players but no one is as good as the 2023/24 Championship Player of the Season. The West Yorkshire outfit will have to sign an alternative as soon as possible to have a shot at promotion this season.
Norwich City’s Jonathan Rowe was a priority but now it looks like the winger is going to France. French Giants Marseille have hijacked the deal but nothing is set yet.
However, Rowe was left out of the match day squad for The Canaries’ opening day clash against Oxford United which they lost 2-0. The Englishman is going somewhere but there hasn’t been a confirmation of the destination.
Second in line is Crystal Palace’s Jesurun Rak-Sakyi. The Eagles’ are keen on finding him a temporary home as they want him to develop more before he becomes a permanent in the squad.
Leeds United offer £15 million to Crystal Palace for a permanent Jesurun Rak-Sakyi move
According to Journalist Alan Nixon, The 49ers have sent an official bid of £15 million for the youngster. Reports also suggest that it will be rejected as Palace want to keep the winger at Selhurst Park for the long term.
The club is only interested in securing a loan deal for the 21-year-old. Earlier, it was reported that Jesurun had agreed on a deal with Sheffield United.
Although claims now say that Rak-Sakyi is still deciding his future for the season. Three clubs namely, Leeds United, Hull City and front runners Sheffield United have agreed to Crystal Palace’s loan terms.
This is a desperate move by Leeds United as they’re probably looking forward to losing Jonathan Rowe to Marseille. A loan deal might work but as The Blades remain front runners, The 49ers want to ensure a talented winger comes to Elland Road this summer.
The club will have to compare their options and decide on a deal. Rowe is still for grabs as Marseille is looking at a deal of around £8 million. The West Yorkshire outfit were keen on a deal below £10 million and The Canaries might have dropped their valuation.
