Leeds United ownership figure has ‘hinted’ at the future of midfield star – player has been linked with exit this summer

Leeds United fans will be happy with the progress the new ownership has made with the club so far. Next season will be a huge step in the 49ers plans.

The 49ers Enterprises bought the rest of the stake in the club a few years ago and have been in control of the club full time. One of their first major moves was to bring in a coach to take Leeds back to the Premier League. Daniel Farke was the man chosen, and two years later, he has delivered.

Club chairman Paraag Marathe was happy with the title win this season, and promised to back the club this summer. Leeds are expected to have a huge budget when the window opens.

Despite the expected spend, Leeds will be wary of PSR sanctions. The club was near the red line in January, which prevented winter signings.

One of the ways around it is to sell before you buy. This summer, some players are expected to leave Elland Road. Manor Solomon and Joe Rothwell will return to their parent club, while Junior Firpo, Sam Byram and Josuha Guilavogui are out of contract soon.

Leeds fans have been critical of Brenden Aaronson’s performances this season, with most expecting the attacking midfielder to be sold. Reports have claimed the American will be one of the first to go if PSR sanctions are expected. This week, Larry Nance Jr has spoken on Aaronson’s importance to the team:

“I’m a Brenden fan. I see my basketball style in him. No real gaudy numbers in terms of goal output. But if you look at all the in-between numbers, the tactical side of the game, we are better with him,”

Larry Nance is ‘part of the ownership group’ at Leeds United.

Should the club sell Brenden Aaronson?

If push comes to shove, he will be one of the first out of the door. His place in the team is under pressure heading into the Premier League. He had decent output this year, but there are worries about his all round game.

Many signs point to him moving to the bench when the club brings in a new midfielder.

He could still be useful off the bench. I wouldn’t quite dismiss him yet
