Leeds United plan shock Liverpool raid – could sign ‘multiple’ players

When Leeds United club chairman Paraag Marathe made it clear there will be money to spend this summer, many fans were excited. Now, it is down to Daniel Farke and the recruitment team to buy the players.

Leeds will need to boost the quality of their squad if they have hopes of surviving the Premier League next season. Multiple reports have linked the club with signings from England, and in other European leagues. Farke has huge decisions to make to choose who makes the squad and who will be sold this summer.

It is believed the club will want some players with Premier League experience.

Leeds United could make double swoop

As it stands, Leeds will need to replace two key players this summer. Junior Firpo and Sam Byram are out of contract this summer, and there are no signs of the club offering a renewal.

The Whites were linked with Liverpool’s Konstantinos Tsimikas this week. The Reds are open to selling the 29-year old. With Firpo set to leave, the club will need another fullback. But further reports suggest Leeds will make a shock double swoop. TEAMtalk have revealed that the Whites could sign Caomhin Kelleher and Konstantinos Tsimikas in one deal.

Liverpool will demand around £40million in a deal for both players.

Leeds get two quality starters

Illan Meslier is close to gone this summer, and Leeds have already been looking for a replacement. Kelleher is a good keeper at Premier League level. His performances in the absence of Alisson have shown he is good enough to be a starter in the league. Over the last three seasons, Kelleher has a 70% save percentage – higher than league average.

Tsimikas will also fit in well at left back. With Junior Firpo gone, Leeds will need a starter in that position. The defender has created 75 chances in the Premier League over the last three seasons.

Getting both players for the reported price of £40million is undoubtedly good business from Leeds United.
