Leeds United will expect a host of changes to their squad this summer. The Whites are preparing for the Premier League next season, and will need serious quality in the squad.

Club chairman Paraag Marathe has vowed to the fans that the club will spend this summer. According to reports, Leeds will have up to £120million when the summer window opens. Daniel Farke will once again work closely with the recruitment team.

Fans will hope that the club makes some good signings, so that Elland Road can experience top flight football for more than a season.

There are some discussions behind the scenes that suggest that the club could make some sales during the summer transfer window. Leeds will want to avoid PSR sanctions in the Premier League. Finance expert Stefan Borson has strong feeling that some major sales will be made to boost the club’s PSR position:

“They have said it themselves that they’re going to spend as much money as they are permitted to spend.

“They recognise if you don’t spend £100-120million you’ve got no chance of staying up.” he told Football Insider.

“But that doesn’t mean they won’t try and sell as well. They may try and sell as well.

“So, buying but also selling, and I think you know the clubs that have figured out the best approach to PSR are the clubs that understand that sacrifice on one side for players with high player-trading profits while also bringing in new signings to improve the squad.

“It’s getting that balance right.

“The bottom line is, there’s that trading of players, which Leeds did obviously with Archie Gray last summer while also investing.”

Who could Leeds sell this summer?

There are a few obvious candidates that the club could make available. The main one would be Illan Meslier, his future has been up in the air since the end of the season. One of Ethan Ampadu or Pascal Struijk could be sold, they currently hold the most value with their performances this year.

Leeds could also make a healthy profit off of Wilfried Gnonto, whose value has increased since his move for £4million a few years ago.
