Two games down and Leeds United fans don’t seem particularly happy with what is going on at the club. A 3-3 opener draw to Portsmouth was followed by a 0-3 home loss to Middlesbrough in the EFL Cup.
Giorginio Rutter recently said his goodbyes by verbally agreeing to sign for Brighton and Hove Albion. With another player to replace, The Whites are yet to find a replacement for previous departures.
Many are demanding Daniel Farke’s head but there is still a group of supporters who believe in the manager’s potential. However, with just under two weeks before the summer transfer window ends, The 49ers will have to make their moves quickly to rejuvenate the squad.
Amidst this, former Scotland international Alan Brazil has delivered his verdict regarding United’s push for promotion. In talks with TEAMtalk, the 65-year-old claimed that he can’t see The West Yorkshire outfit not competing for promotion this season.
Even after getting to know the transfer turmoil at the club, Alan stayed firm on his prediction. This was a sensible verdict as there are no single moves that the club can make to ruin it all. Buying replacements remains the goal before the deadline and we’ll have to see after that.

Navigating the transfer market leverage of Leeds United
In other news, a financial expert says Leeds United don’t have any leverage in the market this season. Even after making hundreds of millions of pounds this summer through player sales, Dan Plumpley thinks that The Whites don’t have an anchor in the market this summer.
Talking exclusively to MOT Leeds News, Dan claimed that many of the departures were unnecessary.
“Itās really good business. I said before at the time I didnāt think a Ā£100m-plus firesale was needed and I donāt think necessarily some of the departures are needed.”
“Itās just the nature of the game that youāre in and if a Premier League club comes looking youāve got no kind of leverage to keep those players with some of the clauses in there as well. On the money side of things, itās really good business for Leeds United.”
“Of course, they donāt want to lose some of those players, but when you are in the Championship and you have got what are Premier League players and a legacy squad from when you were in that league itās really hard to keep them.”

Plumpley said that United’s tier status was to blame considering the club had Premier League-level players. In the sales department, he also blamed the clauses which caused the club to have no leverage.
