Leeds United trying to push through deadline day loan deal for 40-cap international

Leeds United remain active in the January transfer window as the deadline approaches, with the club still looking to bolster their squad.

Despite working within tight financial constraints, the Whites have already enhanced their attacking options by bringing in Facundo Buonanotte on loan from Brighton, having missed out on the move last summer.

Leeds are still eager to add a striker, but with their top target, Jorgen Strand Larsen, set to join Crystal Palace, they have instead been linked with other attackers on deadline day.

However, the Whites are indeed trying to secure a loan deal on the final day of the transfer window. They are pushing to secure the signature of Krasnodar attacking midfielder Eduard Spertsyan.

Leeds are trying to push through a deadline-day Eduard Spertsyan deal

Eduard Spertsyan has been on Leeds’ radar since last summer, and the club have finally made a move to sign him before the end of the window.

They made an offer for him on Sunday, which was rebuffed by Krasnodar, but the club are still trying to push through a deal on deadline day.

The political situation in Russia has made the negotiations more complicated. However, the Whites are trying to finalise at least a loan deal.

According to the Daily Mail, Spertsyan is in Abu Dhabi and so may not undergo a medical for a permanent move. However, a loan move has not been ruled out yet.

Leeds are keen to try and sign him on a loan deal, and would be keen to finalise an agreement with Krasnodar in the final hours of the transfer window if they agree to such a deal.

The Krasnodar captain is keen on a move to Leeds as he wants to play in the Premier League, but the club are rapidly running out of time.

It remains to be seen whether Leeds can work out an agreement to secure a deal to sign the attacking midfielder on loan in final hours of the transfer window.

Leeds are leaving it late on deadline day

Spertsyan is a player who has been on Leeds’ radar since last summer, but the club have again left it late on the final day of the transfer window.

Signing a player from Russia is always complicated because of the tense political situation, and the Leeds recruitment team must have known that this would be a tough deal to do.

With just hours left in the window, Leeds are now working against the clock to not only finalise an agreement with Krasnodar but also to complete all the formalities of the move.

Leeds and Spertsyan are facing a tense couple of hours to see whether he will arrive at Elland Road as a brand new winter signing.

Prag the Brag – ineffective once again. Didn’t need to chase Larsen, less than 7 million on a backup player we desperately need would have been enough. No excuses 49s it’s the typical pattern every transfer window of never getting the job finished. All gas no action. and of course Farke to blame for any failure – i hope Leeds fans realise it is not the players, not Farke, but it is the smarmy 49s and their nepotistic recruitment team that are entirely to blame for gambling with relegation.
